Vintage Jewellery (1940's - 1980's) at The Jewellers
Vintage style in the modern world is one of the most fashionable current trends! Typically considered to be at least 20 years old and defined as “the period of time when something of quality was produced”, this period of time saw some of the world’s most infamous jewellery designers and houses showcase some of the most exquisite jewels. Andrew Grima, Kramer, Boucheron, Van Cleef & Arpels, Mikimoto, Cartier, Fred Leighton are naming a few of the most celebrated jewellers of the time. Costume jewellery became the new must-have accessory. Large statement pieces set with cameos, large coloured gemstones, pearls and beads became the norm, while fine jewellery boasted pave settings, mixtures of gems and outrageous, intricate designs. Even the most amateur of jewellery collectors can usually identify vintage jewellery styles!
