Known to be worn well before the 1700’s, earrings have been a part of culture since prehistoric times. Traditionally they were a mostly male decoration, and have been used to signify both wealthier citizens and slaves. In Ancient Greece however, earrings were an ornament of the prostitutes! In modern time, classic diamond studs, whether solitaire earrings or cluster earrings, plain gold hoops or timeless gemstone clusters are all still in demand, as well as the more elaborate drop earrings and chandelier styles.
